Black Porcelain Round Dinner Plate with Calligraphy 8-1/2"D, Set of 2

I bought one set of these and I absolutely adore them! They are dense, like porcelain or something, finished smoothly, and every bit as gorgeous as the picture. Americans should keep in mind that although these are considered plates, they are concave, so they are basically more bowl-like than a typical American dinner plate, but not bowl-like enough to be called bowls. They’re great not just for a number of Japanese recipes, but also for other Asian recipes like Pad Thai, and even Hawaiian recipes like poke. I bought from Merae because I’m an artist and so I wanted to support actual Japanese artists, even if the cost was higher than it might be for a Walmart or Amazon product, so I was very pleased to see that each dish in the set said it was made in Japan, had stickers of authenticity, and so forth, to prove my purchase really did support the artist and the persons crafting the products. Also, I live off the grid in a remote part of California and I received my order within only a few days! I also reached out to customer service with a question and they helped me right away and were super friendly. I will definitely be buying from Merae again in the future!
